Booking Doctors Appointments and Repeat Prescriptions Online

Enter HERE to book your next Doctors appointment and order a Repeat Prescription (please be aware this is a link to an external website).
Application
If you are interested in joining this scheme, please read the following notes and obtain an application form from the practice. A unique PIN number will be provided by the receptionist and you will be asked to create a Password - known only to you - when you first log on to the system. Please note we MAY require photographic proof of identity. One pin number is required per family member.
Doctor Appointments
To assist the Doctor, please enter the Reason for your appointment - though not if you consider this breaches your need for privacy. Please ensure that you book the appointments appropriately, i.e.
  1. Suspected illness
  2. Illness
  3. Follow ups to previous consultations
  4. Medication reviews
A maximum of 6 Appointments per patient can be stored within the EMIS Access system in any 28 day period. If you need to make additional appointments, please contact the receptionist team. If all Internet appointment slots have been used, patients will need to ring the Practice, as now. The EMIS Access service covers the Overton Surgery and Bangor on Dee Surgery. The Online Appointment Booking system should ONLY be used for medical appointments. If you require the Doctor to complete a form, sign documents or carry out similar admin tasks on your behalf, these should be notified/passed to the reception team, or posted to Overton Medical Practice, 15 High Street, Overton, Wrexham, LL13 0ED.
Missed Appointments
Please let us know if you will be unable to attend any appointment. Either cancel it online, or contact us by telephone (01978 710666). This will allow us to offer the appointment to another patient. If you miss 2 appointments in any 3 month period, we will possibly write to you to express our concern that you are not contacting us to cancel appointments and we may consider withdrawing your ability to use EMIS Access. However, you will still be able to book appointments with our receptionists.
Nurse Appointments
Due to the specialist nature of nurse appointments we are unable to offer them online.
Repeat Prescriptions
EMIS Access will provide you with the ability to transmit repeat medication requests to the surgery. Once the reception team have accessed the request it will display as "Accepted" on your EMIS Access home page. Please note that this does not mean that the prescription is ready. It simply means that the request is being processed.
We still require two working days to process requests.
System security
Practice staff will not have access to your password. If you forget your password you will need to re-apply for EMIS Access and possibly complete a further application form. In the event of inappropriate use, we may be forced to revoke your access to the service and ask you to revert to contacting our reception team in order to make an appointment. We would consider aspects such as the following as being inappropriate:
  1. Booking appointments and not using them.
  2. Booking appointments for other family members using your name.
  3. Consistently booking inappropriate appointments with the doctor.
  4. Sending inappropriate or abusive messages
Faults
Please note that the EMIS Access system may be unavailable periodically due to routine maintenance or server faults. We are advised that this system is constantly monitored by EMIS so you do not need to report any faults. To make an appointment, simply ring the Surgeries, or try later.
